We Reserve the Right to remove you from the server if you’re causing issues.
We run the server, we pay for it, we continue to support it so that players have access to it. This is all of our own expense and time. So, if you’re causing us issues, being generally rude to other players or staff, or just being the kind of person we don’t want on the server, we reserve every right to remove you from it if needed.
Even if you’re not directly breaking a rule, we still have the focused goal of making this server fun, safe, and enjoyable for everyone, and if you ruin that, then you will be removed.
This is a Worldbuilding/RP Server.
Choices made for the server are made in the interest of improving these aspects, and in some cases to improve server performance. You might not have access to everything in the game/everything from certain mods, and you will need to accept that.
If you are joining for a “factions experience” of raiding people and causing chaos, or are joining just to play a modded survival server, I’d suggest you look elsewhere.
Read Up on the World Before Adding Anything To It.
Familiarize yourself with the world before you add your own content to it. You don’t need to read every single message ever written, but just looking through the Vassal Compendium, and Checking out the Worldbuilding Category of the Discord will help you get an idea of the kind of state the world is in.
Avoid Playing Solo.
We HIGHLY recommend that you interact with and engage with other players, in fact, it’s somewhat mandatory given you are required to select a Kingdom to start. Remember, nobody is going to decide to approach the “Mysterious Loner” if you don’t do any interaction first.
Additionally, remember that the Kingdom you chose IS your kingdom. You may not create your own Kingdoms, and are generally encouraged to work with others within your Kingdom.
No hacking, cheating, duping or exploiting.
If you find a way to exploit a bug in a mod, it needs to be reported to staff as soon as possible so we’re able to fix it.
Do not purposefully ruin the experiences of other players.
This includes spawn killing, guarding corpses, causing unneeded stress to other players through your actions, or being excessively uncooperative.
You must have paid for Minecraft to play.
We don’t support cracked accounts, and if we find you to be using a cracked account, you will be removed from the server.
No Griefing.
Do not needlessly destroy or raid other people’s builds. If you have both agreed to it and there is some worldbuilding or story component, that is fine.
In addition, do not destroy random non-base areas just for the fun of it. Keep the world somewhat clean.
Theft may be allowed in some circumstances but extensive, repeated theft could fall under the previous rule and therefore result in punishment.
Do not Modify the Modpack.
The modpack is intended to be played as-is, and should not be modified unless it’s for the sake of performance or accessibility. Things like Fullbright, Texturepacks to help you see things that are intended to be hard to see, or other modifications to the pack that give you an advantage over others are against the rules.
No Lag Machines, Automatic Farms, or Factories.
Self-explanatory. No machines designed to lag or lower performance of players or the server, and no sorts of Automatic Farms.
While we do have systems in place to stop players from making these and gaining any benefit from doing so, it's not good for the server, whether or not you get much benefit from it.
Keep things SFW.
Discussing NSFW topics in chat, harassing other players, using mods to display/create NSFW content, etc. are all strictly forbidden. None of us want to see or hear those kind of things.
This ALSO includes NSFW backstories or roleplay.
Follow the Discord Rules.
This Ruleset should be treated as an extension of the Discord Rules.
We do not tolerate Bigotry.
Do Not Spam or Advertise in Vassal.
No NSFW Content. This includes NSFW Media made within ingame systems.
This is an English-Only Server, so you need to speak English; unless it is a roleplay scenario and you're speaking a conlang.
Select Kingdoms/Nations/Factions Only.
We have a set list of Kingdoms created by the Vassal Team, and those are the only ones available for players to be part of. Making your own Kingdom, Nation, Faction, or any other thing like that is not allowed.
Your character may not be any type of Nobility unless granted Nobility or Lordship from Staff or other Nobles.
Select Kingdoms/Nations/Factions Only.
Your character may ONLY be one of the races outlined in the Vassal Compendium. You may not create new races or subraces.
Be Original.
Don't just roleplay an existing group/religion/person. This isn't an exact recreation of history or your personal fanfic, it's a worldbuilding server, so get building.
Fit the Setting.
The setting of the server is strictly Medieval Fantasy. Not Steampunk, Not Scifi, Fantasy. You are not to roleplay anything outside of the theme, though we’re allowing some historical inaccuracy (For example, taking inspiration from the Roman Empire despite it being not actually Medieval). No Time Travellers, No Alternate Realities, None of that.
You Aren’t the Main Character.
You are not a god, unkillable, a demon/wolf/dragon/angel/emo hybrid from 2008 DeviantArt, or anything along those lines. The vast majority of people will be- essentially- medieval peasants, and that’s okay! Your character has meaning and purpose aside from just being some fantastical hero.
In addition, give others the chance to have their characters do interesting things. You aren’t the only person playing. This is a server of collaboration.
We do not allow players to roleplay concepts such as Fascism, Genocide, Slavery, or Bigotry.
As much as those are sometimes part of real world history, they're also objectively upsetting things that have happened, and we don't want any of that on the server. Your character can be a bad person, just not that bad of a person.
We do not Appeal Bans or Punishments.
Period. We will not accept appeals for bans or punishments. We hold this rule because we do not often ban or punish players, and so if we do ban or punish a player, we have good reason.
Do not ask staff to appeal a your ban. Do not ask other players to do so on your behalf. Additional information given will not change our minds.
The only way we would appeal a ban or punishment is if we banned or punished the wrong person. However, that's incredibly unlikely.
Staff has the Final Say on Rulings.
Do not argue with staff over rulings. This includes asking for appeals for banned players (see above), arguing over rule changes, modpack changes, disabled/changed features, etc.
We will gladly accept constructive criticism that is offered in a non-aggressive manner, and one which is respectful of staff and other players. We will keep our player’s opinions in mind when making decisions, but staff is still going to be the final say on the matter.
You are free to Question or Disagree with Staff.
Every player is free to question or disagree with staff, but do not make your disagreement our problem. If you do not like the way something is handled, you can bring it up to staff, but do not continue to bring it up repeatedly.
Do Not DM Staff without a VERY Good Reason
There is practically zero reason to DM Staff. If you have a Bug, Report it in #bug-reports. If you have a more serious problem, open a ticket in #support-tickets. If you're confused about lore, ask in #worldbuilding. If you're confused about some other part of the server, ask in #community-help.
