Dwemar are the Descendants of the Ancient Dwarven Race.
Their ancestors were known for their long lifespans, short stature, and skill in various crafts, particularly architecture and smithing.
Nobody knows exactly how or why the Dwarves left, but the legacy of the Dwarves live on in their (often part Nerevar) mixed ancestors, who still bear many signature Dwarven characteristics. However, like all other Human Species, their communities are physically and culturally diverse, and not all Dwemar choose to pursue their ancestral crafts.
Nerevar usually stand somewhere around 5'1 to 5'6, and have lifespans of 80-90 years on average.
Dwemar seem to still have some genetic memory of the Dwarven ancestral crafts. It's not known exactly how this works, it's just known that it does, in fact, work.
Biologically, Dwemar are more similar to Humans than Dwarves. The Dwarves had many traits; exceptional vision in the dark, a resistance to poisons, and some even say the Dwarves had Two Hearts and Two Livers. However, this isn't proven, and Dwemar very much only have one of each.
Dwarven genetics are quite strong, and even after several generations, the species is still unique and notable. Dwemar, if they have a human parent at all, will usually have a Nerevar parent. However, most notably, Dwemar do not have the gene that allows them to interbreed with other species; meaning a Dwemar can only have children with other Dwemar or a Human.
