To Fast Travel, you simply need to find a Sign that's linked to a Charted Road Network. Then, Punch the sign and it will open up a Road Map! You can then select your destination, and given you meet the requirements (see below), you'll travel there! Just keep in mind that you can't Fast Travel for another 30 Minutes.
You'll need Money to travel, and you can't Fast Travel unless you have enough to get to your destination. It's roughly 1 Silver Coin every 300 Blocks, so it's decently expensive to travel somewhere far in one go.
Additionally, while you will keep your current mount while you Fast Travel, you cannot Fast Travel with Carts or Wagons, and they will be left behind. Luckily, Roads do increase player and mount speed, so travelling by foot is still feasible.
Setting Up Fast Travel is actually relatively simple!
To start, simply grab a Charting Map, and choose to Start Charting while on a Valid Road. Roads can be made up of many different materials, and can be player made, but a good frame of reference is to just look at the kind of materials that the Procedurally Generated Roads are made from!
Once you've started charting, simply walk from your starting point to your destination! However, if other players have done some charting before you, you might just simply be able to link up your charted path to an existing charted path, as any connected paths can be travelled through.
Finally, once you have your charted path, use the Charting Map to finish charting, and then place a new Sign (or edit an existing one) and Add it to the Path! It needs to be near a charted path for this to work, but the sign itself can vary, it can be a hanging sign, regular sign, paper or canvas sign, or even a signpost.
