Nain is the Southern Kingdom of Tannal, inspired by Egypt and Morocco, with the Cithien-Dynasty-Era parts of Nain being inspired by Ancient Rome.
It is a warm kingdom, its territory mainly covering vast Deserts, Savannas, and Jungles. Education, The Pursuit of Knowledge, and Magick are all things that the Kingdom encourages heavily.
Nain is governed by Empress Karya IV and her wife, Maril, along with a small court of advisors and their Royal Mage.
Karya and Maril have no children currently, though several of Maril's Family Members also stay with them. Karya has no immediate family other than Maril.
Nain was originally a vast amount of seperate and distinct tribes spread across the region, which were invaded by an empire known as the Cithien Dynasty. The Cithiens colonized much of Nain's Territory quickly, amassing large amounts of land, and trying to wipe out the distinct cultures in favour of their own.
After many, many decades of Cultural Genocide, Unfair Treatment from the Occupying Cithiens, and a general desire for true freedom, much of the people originating from those original tribes revolted, eventually driving the Cithiens out and establishing the Kingdom of Nain.
They spent many years re-discovering their own cultures, which eventually settled into one more homogenous culture (atleast, around Central Nain). The Cithien Empire was scattered heavily and eventually faded into obscurity, with much of what was left of it either being absorbed into Southern Andas or Nain.
for the past couple of Decades, Andas has been organizing Crusades to Nain to take back "Holy Relics" and "Spread the Word of Eion", which typically involved a lot of raiding, pillaging, and killing. The Crusades have only stopped in the Last 5 Years, and many people today remember them clearly and lost a loved one or two to them. As such, tensions between Nain and Andas are high.
